“Gebrauchsanweisung für Norwegen” by Ebba D. Drolshagen

Norway is rich, very rich – it is one of the richest countries in the world. And Norway is rich exactly since Christmas 1969, before 1969 Norway was poor. You will learn in this book the first oil has been bubbling since Christmas 1969. You will also learn why the packed lunch on my departure from Tromsø looked the way it looked. In a plastic bag lay a bread with toppings, on top a bread with toppings and on top a bread with toppings. We would cover a sandwich, which we want to eat on the way, again with a slice of bread. The Norwegians do not do that! If I had finished reading the book in Norway, I would have looked at the cable car to Fjellheisen immediately after the parking meter. Instead that I looked on the timetable after the next train leaves. So I haven’t seen the parking meter and found a parking ticket over 60 euros behind the windscreen wiper. But actually I can be glad that I have not paid the parking fee and have exceeded the parking time by one minute. That would have cost 60 euros too.

(As far as I know the book is not available in English.)
