The square Djemaa al Fna is the heart of Marrakech. Here the people sell, eat, trade, play music, perform tricks or put yourself on display. The main figure of the novel is called crumbs and is also shown on the square by professional beggars. His mother lends him, earns good money for it and she does everything in her power to prevent the baby from becoming a boy.
(As far as I know the book isn’t available in English, but it is available in French. The french titel is “Le Seigneur vous le rendra”.)
